NETWORKING BASICS
Network
Network is an interconnection between two or more devices for data communication and resource. sharing.

Networking
The technique in which a network being established is known as networking.Networking Devices
HUB
- Hub is used to connect the devices in a network.
- It is a duffer device because it doesn't know any IPaddress or MAC address.
- It only knows the source port .Data is broadcasted to all the ports except source port.
- As the hub works based on bus topology so that only one user communicate at a time .
- Collisions are common in hubs.Due to this data loss as well as the LAN bandwidth will be occurred.
SWITCH
- Switch is a interconnecting device used to connect the components in a network
- It works based upon on MAC address
- Switch will broadcast when it was started for the first time and later it will unicast
- It works based upon the star topology so that multiple clients can be communicated at a time
- No collisions will be occurred in the switch if only one device is connected to each switch port
Router
- Router is also used to connect two or more devices in a network.
- It works based upon the IP address.
- It performs the Routing.
- No broadcasting.
- No collision.
Bridge
- Bridge connect two media segments that use the same protocol.
- Bridges examine the source address to determine the media segment of network devices.
- Bridges operate at the Data Link layer of the OSI model.
- Bridge is a software based device which is used to create and maintain MAC address
- Each segment connected by a bridge can have the same network address.
- Messages within a media segment are prevented from crossing over to another segment.
